FNGN Visual Identity

Visual identity for Friday Night Game Night hosted weekly by Pierson College.

For the recurring event "Friday Night Game Night," I designed a versatile, playful poster styled as a playing card to reflect the event’s focus on games and competition. Since the event happens every Friday at 8 pm (without a fixed date), I used the card’s corner numbers to display "8" with the subtext "this Friday" for clarity and reusability. Following the design conventions of playing cards, each version of the poster is symmetrical (top and bottom) and includes 8 shapes corresponding to the number. To keep the poster fresh but cohesive, I created four versions, each featuring a different suit.

For email promotions, I further enhanced this concept by creating a GIF that cycles through all four card designs, resembling a hand opening and closing, to capture attention and convey the event’s energy.

ART 132 - Introduction to Graphic Design

Various assignments for Graphic Design class.

The first five pieces are cutouts of black paper arranged on white squares to represent various words, with intentional design limitations. The following two scans are posters created with strict constraints: one is a recreation of an existing poster using only Times New Roman with a focus on whitespace, and the other promotes a screening of Helvetica, highlighting the contrasting adjectives used to describe the typeface in the film by clustering them densely to evoke subtlety, with ample whitespace for the headlines to reflect Helvetica’s strength.

The final two projects explore the concept of "innovation." The first uses creative objects shaped into letters (a 3D-printed "N," a QR code for "O," LEDs, and more) to spell "innovation." The second is an abstract depiction of the journey toward innovation, featuring a winding path that gradually clarifies, symbolizing the process leading to a bright, visionary outcome.
